My name is Paul Marsh. I have been a professional 3D environment and prop artist for the past 6 years.
Video games have always been a passion for me. Eversince I got my hands on my own Commodore 64 as a kid, I have been interested in game development. When 3D software became available I was obsessed with 3D modelling and animation and instantly knew that I wanted to work in this creative field.
I got my first break in the industry working as a junior artist at “Perception” working on the Stargate:SG1 game. Sadly the game was cancelled 8 months later due to complications.
Not long after, I got another job at Blue Tongue Entertainment. Since then I was promoted to mid-level artist and have had vast experience working on many titles on multiple SKUs mostly creating game art, highpoly cutscene props and animation.
Over my career I have worked on 9 games, ranging from Nickelodeon’s Nicktoons series on the PS2 and Gamecube, to the successful De Blob games on Wii and 360/PS3. The other games I have worked on are listed below.
Most of my professional career I have used different versions of 3Dsmax and consider myself quite knowledgeable of it’s advantages and shortcomings. I prefer to use Max but I am willing to use other
software packages if required. I have had personal experience using the Unreal and Source engine and have become quite good at adapting to in-house tools and game engines quickly.
I am actively seeking full-time employment or contract work in the games industry as an Environment and props Artist. I am situated in Melbourne, Australia, but I will consider relocating within Australia and overseas if the right opportunity arises. |
